Bizarrely, this video was my final project for a drawing class I took at Parsons. We were asked to create a self-portrait using any medium. I chose dance and video. The other dancer with me is my sister Ingrid, who has been a major inspiration in the creation of my own identity. The concept of duality drives this video: soft and hard, fast and slow, male and female, linear and non-linear. We filmed in an old structure at the north end of Central Park. Ingrid asked her awesome husband Brandon to work the camera, although in reality, he didn't really have a choice.
